Michael Guarasci has over 21 years of experience in the investment management industry. He currently is Partner, Chief Operating Officer and Member of the Management Committee of Indus Capital Partners, LLC.
Prior to joining Indus, Mr. Guarasci was a Senior Managing Director with Bear Stearns where he ran the Institutional Equity and Fixed Income group within the Asset Management division. Mr. Guarasci joined Bear Stearns in 2000 as CFO of BSAM and was promoted to the division’s COO in 2003 before taking over the Institutional Asset Management group in 2005. Mr. Guarasci left Bear Stearns in early 2007. During his 7 years at Bear Stearns, Mr. Guarasci helped manage the business grow from $12 billion to $50 billion in assets under management.
Prior to joining Bear Stearns, Mr. Guarasci was Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer at Credit Suisse’s U.S. Asset Management division. He originally joined as Vice President of Finance for BEA Associates in 1994 before BEA became part of CSAM Americas. As an Executive Committee member of CSAM, Mr. Guarasci was part of a small group that guided a $100 billion investment manager through the integration of Warburg Pincus Asset Management, Garantia Asset Management in Brazil, and a handful of small acquisitions throughout his 6 year tenure at the firm. Mr. Guarasci was responsible for all financial and infrastructure related functions throughout North and South America. He also participated in a number of global assignments and was the main architect of CSAM’s branding campaign, as well as its senior level human capital recruiting, retention and promotion programs.
From 1986 to 1994, Mr. Guarasci was an Analyst with Arthur D. Little and a Senior Manager with Price Waterhouse in their respective M&A and Valuation consulting groups assisting private equity and LBO firms with their acquisitions. He has testified on behalf of his clients as it related to governance and tax related issues.
Mike graduated with honors from Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a major in finance and accounting.
